Is the Cleveland show (the spinoff from family guy) gonna suck the entire season?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in afterlife show | 5 Comments »

Is it just me but does this show just suck? I try to keep an open mind but this show seems to be missing a key element. I also feel they are going to keep cracking black jokes the entire show everyday….. witch was my least favorite part of family guy… now its the entire show??? tell me it has more of a premise then that please…. i looked on hulu and every episode has three stars or less….. anyway i want to hear what YOU think be honest, racist comments will be sent to god and will be dealt with in the afterlife good day!!!!! (racism shows me your level of intellect)

yea it’s funny sometimes but it’s getting stale…Quagmire should have gotten a show lol..that lil boy with the afro will NEVER be Stewie..I don’t understand how it’s not up to par like Family Guy, seeing as both shows are by the same person..I guess it’s cause Cleveland was always so boring anyways…They need to do something that’ll keep ppl’s attention or there won’t be a chance of a season 2

Are there stories about guides to help from death to the afterlife?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in death afterlife | 3 Comments »

Are there any myths, stories, or beliefs about guides in the afterlife? Such as, beings – spirits, people, etc – that meet people/souls after they die to help usher them into the afterlife?
I know about the boatman and the River Styx…I’m thinking a little more personalized for the individual deathee.

in japanese mythology there are shinigami and each culture has its equivalent of Charon/shinigami just search death god on wikipedia

Remember, this are the INTERNETS. 99% of people don’t give a fuck about what you say. So don’t get all dramatic.

My opinion: God does not exist.

Supporting arguments:
1. People made up religion as a response to fear of the unknown.

Ex. Greek Mythology: Zeus = Thunder, Hades = Afterlife, etc.

2. People are afraid of death so they make up something that can comfort them while they are alive.

3. Some people may say they are true believers in a certain religion. Why do you believe in it? Have you ’seen God’? Or were your parents that religion? 90% of people are the same religion their parents were because they were raised that way, not because they have seen God.

Ex. You have been taught that fish = that swimming thing. What if someone was taught that fish = number? They could be completely wrong yet they believe they are right.

The truth is, many humans hate admitting they are wrong. Argue, Flame, Scream.

Dunt Forgot Two Yoos Corekt Grammar.

Running out of characters, bye.

and that is as you believe, i believe otherwise, i believe in jesus and his sacrifice for me. this forum will nto convince you otherwise
good luck

all three answers are enough for explanation

Is it more rational to believe in an afterlife than to believe in God?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in afterlife | 3 Comments »

It’s perfectly possible to believe in an afterlife without believing in God. Is it any more or less ridiculous? Is there any evidence to support or refute the existence of an afterlife?

equally ridiculous

What is the most blasphemous tv program on at the moment?

Posted on December 28th, 2009 by admin in afterlife show | 18 Comments »

Pushng Dasies is pretty anti-afterlife. (great show)
Buffy? Cavemen? Charmed?…any ideas?

and the most good religious profram? My Name is Earl?

whatever religion or morals you think, justify

South Park does an excellent job at ridiculing religion.

However, just about any Science show is blasphemous, because it conflicts with biblical doctrine.

(notice I capitalized "Science" and not "biblical.")

what is the Greek concept of the afterlife: who, what ,where?

Re-read the Sermon on the mount. – clue: Why did Jesus keep repeating the word "blessed". — The Church has hidden the idiomatic meaning of that word until very recently the Catholic Church Research Department has admitted what the word means and meant when Jesus gave that sermon. —— put all that together and you will have the answer to "At the time of Jesus, what was the Greek concept of the afterlife?"

Edit: Frau Hunter, just gave you the mainstream academic answer. And I agree with her as far as she went. -However ,some minor Greek Historians wrote that "to be happy on your deathbed" meant that you were going to have a good afterlife (Heaven). When Jesus used the word "blessed" it meant "set aside for Heaven". —

Today we have a completely different meaning for the word (concept) of "blessed".

What is the Book of the Dead?

Posted on December 28th, 2009 by admin in egyptian afterlife | 7 Comments »

What is the Book of the Dead? For what reason was it written? What does it reveal about the ancient Egyptian concept of the afterlife?

A "Book of the Dead" is any text collection in a culture that contains magical texts or spells concerning death and the afterlife.

The Egyptian Book of the Dead is the most well-known of these. It contained spells used during embalming and burial, but mainly contained spells to be used in the afterlife when the deceased was resurrected. These included a spell for the use of your legs, a spell to summon a priest in the afterlife, a spell that your wives would accompany you in the afterlife, etc.

The Books of the Dead were originally texts placed on pyramid walls. Over time, the texts began to be put on coffins and were known as coffin texts. Later, as their existence became more known to the common people (through pyramid workers and grave robbers), actual papyri books became available that were cheaper and didn’t require a pyramid or large coffin.

You can download a copy of the Egyptian one at various sites and I also found a copy of the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

Hope this helps. Remember to pick a best answer.
