It’s perfectly possible to believe in an afterlife without believing in God. Is it any more or less ridiculous? Is there any evidence to support or refute the existence of an afterlife?

No, it’s no more or less ridiculous — it’s equally ridiculous.
Because there’s no evidence of any kind to suggest there’s any such thing.

Since there is no evidence for either an afterlife or a god, the reasonable thing to do would be to believe in neither. They are equally irrational claims to me.
