Christians, for example, believe one has two basic options for afterlife: 1) if you behave in full compliance to the spiritually lmiting bible code of conduct, then one goes to heaven. 2) Otherwise, you burn in Hell for eternity. The jews, for example, believe that upon the coming of the messiah they will be rewarded with a massive private group slaves to serve them till then end of times (Quote from the jewish talmud: Simeon Haddarsen, fol. 56-D: "When the Messiah comes every Jew will have 2800 slaves." ). In Islam, for example, they believe in certain other options pretty much in line with the aforementioned, like the renowned 77 virgins patiently waiting for the deceased good muslin in paradise and so forth.
Hope this is of help.
Cheers!

Some religions like Hinduism and Buddhism have no concept of after life. It is only 3 Divine Abrahimic religions which believe in life after death. By far Islam is most clear about living a good life here.

In Islam, all the deeds one does are recorded by two angels and a record is kept. On the day of judgment, even the smallest particle of a sin or a virtue will be presented on a scale. Whoever has done more virtues will be taken to paradise and whose sins exceed his virtues will end up in hellfire. So in order to lead a good life in the hereinafter, you have to live a good life in this world, taking care of your parents, your offshoots and your siblings. A man is responisble to the society he lives in. This belief makes life better for us, in this world. Because if I love my neighbor and respect my parents, they will live a better life and so shall I.

I think you're looking for Buddhism, but Hindu is also close.

When I think more about it though, isn't that what all religions ask us to do? Not that everyone does, of course....
