What if an alien civilization did NOT experience death, and their life WAS their afterlife?
In other words, let’s say these aliens are somehow able to stay preserved and are genetically programmed to live indefinitely and have sheilds that protect them from any and all forces that could cause death. So, anyway the aliens don’t experience death, how would you explain what death was to them? Is there really a difference between and afterlife and life, since the aliens’ life is equivalent to our afterlife?
They would have had to have known death at some point in their past existence!
If every living thing on their home planet lived forever, then that planet would run out of resources long before they managed to get even a Stone Age civilisation together.
Why do Christians wrongly claim there is an afterlife in light of these biblical verses?
Ecclesiastes 9:5 The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing.
They have no further reward, nor are they remembered.
9:10 Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.
It seems crystal clear to me that there is no afterlife according to the bible.
The bible says a great deal of contradictory and erroneous things. What did you expect clarity. lolz
The bible is one big oxymoron from beginning to end. It constantly argues against itself with its ambiguities and contradictions.
The ones that make it to heaven, all 144 thousand of them, is described as fawning to god for all eternity without pause. The rest of us riff raff will be resurrected on earth. Sounds like reincarnation to me.

I think not . . . do your own homework darling
How come some people think that it’s so negative to not believe in an afterlife?
Doesn’t the absence of an afterlife make real life more beautiful?
And can’t you live your life more sincerely by not believing in an afterlife?
Plus, if there isn’t an afterlife, it’s not like you will be able to complain about it because you’ll be dead.
Yes, but some people really can’t deal with dying and no longer existing, anywhere.
Is it more rational to believe in an afterlife than to believe in God?
It’s perfectly possible to believe in an afterlife without believing in God. Is it any more or less ridiculous? Is there any evidence to support or refute the existence of an afterlife?
equally ridiculous
Can an atheist believe in some sort of afterlife?
Mrs. Deb would like to know. Can an atheist believe in any type of afterlife or reincarnation or some sort?
Yes……I do to some extent. I’m unable to comprehend consciousness (something science has trouble even starting to explain) can end.
If people really believe in an afterlife then why do they cry at funerals?
Seems to me this should be a celebration since the dead person is supposedly moving on to the next step. Deep down people must realize there is no afterlife and this is what saddens them.
i don’t unless they were atheists
Is it our consciousness that gives us the license towards the afterlife or is it our flesh bodies?
I mean, could a robot endowed with consciousness have an afterlife. Aren’t we like flesh robots anyway? In other words, is it our consciousness that gives us the license towards the afterlife or is it our flesh? If humans and animals are imagined to have an afterlife, can electronics have an afterlife?
Perhaps an artificially intelligent machine could upon death turn itself into an invisible immaterial substance, like a soul, when it is finally unplugged or destroyed?
There are three parts to a person. The ‘physical body’, the ‘Spirit’, which all living things have -[ it is more widely referred to as 'instinct' ] – Instinct is a sort of ‘pre programming’. It is why babies go to ’suckle’ (puppies are a good example to watch. The mother knows to ‘chew’ cut the umbilical cord too by instinct. People have a "Soul" as well. This has a ‘use-by’ date. The Soul is what can be ‘everlasting’. The Soul can over-ride instinct – (free will).
Christ’s Second Coming will sort out the ‘failures’ – Many should know better – but choose not to.
God gave us our Human Rights – so Religion should be Political.
So, NO. One can’t pre programme a robot. The material used is sort of ‘dead’ so has no ‘life’ to pass on. An electric battery can only make it seem like it has ‘life’.
A ‘useful’ idea – for cutting "land-fill" rubbish – but not practical -
Could a robot with artificial intelligence have an afterlife?
Aren’t we like flesh robots anyway? In other words, is it our consciousness that gives us the license towards the afterlife or is it our flesh? If humans and animals are imagined to have an afterlife, can electronics have an afterlife?
Perhaps an artificially intelligent machine could upon death turn itself into an invisible immaterial substance, like a soul, when it is finally unplugged or destroyed?
only a palin fan would ask such an ignorant question
What are 10 important things needed in the afterlife?
I’m doing a project and I need to list ten things that the mummy king would need in the afterlife.
Egyptian Kings were buried with:
Pyramid Texts (a series of "spells" to help them navigate in the afterlife)
Canopic Jars (containing their organs)
Eating vessels (plates, cups, etc.) and/or food
Tools & Weapons (spears, bow and arrows, daggers, etc.)
Sometimes everyday items (Jewellery, combs, etc.)
Money and/or gold
And usually something that showed their power of office – a headdress, crook and flail, etc.
Hope that helps!
