Do near death experiences show that there could be some sort of afterlife?

Or is there a scientific explanation for them eg hallucinations because of the brain shutting down? Are there NDEs that science cannot explain?

There is research that already shows its electrical and chemical activity in the brain causing the hallucinations.

No, it shows what happens when the brain begins to shut down.

When the body thinks it’s dying the brain goes into over drive to send signals to the rest of the body.

Neurons are firing every which way. I wouldn’t be surprised if the hallucinations were so life like that they could be perceived as real.

In most cases, the lack of oxygen to the brain may cause hallucinations or a misfiring of neurons causing lights or a light at the end of a tunnel to apper.

The NDE’s are hallucinations and dreams, since that is what happens to some under extreme circumstances. And only few who are near death, have such false "experiences". You cannot trust any NDE’s.

Instead, you need to believe what the BIBLE says about death. The truth about death is that death brings IMMEDIATE heaven or hell, depending ONLY on whether you believed in Jesus for salvation, or not. There is no second chance to be saved, after death.

Heaven is eternal joy with the Lord! :D

The lake of fire is eternal torment. Nobody has to be sent to the lake of fire.

So to be in heaven and not in hell, believe in Jesus for salvation RIGHT NOW!

Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! :D

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in Jesus for salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus alone for salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die! :D

there is no way of confirming any ones near death experience story in a way to satisfy everyone. I have read about picture frames being hung on shelves that can’t be seen from anywhere in the room unless you were on a ladder, yet people come back from near death experiences and know what the picture was of.

Our Faiths don’t come from just a few books. But from 1000s of years of human experiences like near-death experiences.

    No.
The "experiences" vary by person, by culture, and a lot of other factors.
They can be replicated with chemical injections.
The chemicals released and the hyper brain activity that occurs when the brain is beginning to be starved of oxygen and nutrients is well understood by science.
How a person describes the experience, being entirely internal and subjective and subject to interpretation, isn’t really a matter for science (except perhaps psychology).

    Peace.

I have never seen scientific proof of WHAT a near death experience is.
There is no definition of what one is, so no. It proves nothing.

NDE’s are an extremely unreliable way to prove an afterlife.

The Bible is clear: The dead know nothing, they are in a deep, dreamless sleep until either the first, second or third resurrection…

When the body shuts down, then our soul senses become more acute.

When brain scans have been done on people who receive spiritual gifts; like speaking in a different language they don’t know; then there isn’t the brain activity, that normal conversation has. Where we use our brain to decide what to say.

So also, when the body function stops, or if someone practice the occult enough that they have a ’soul out of body experience’, then our soul is aware of our soul self. (If persons is born a spiritual-soul [born again], then person is more aware of their spiritual-soul self.)

That is why there are life after death experiences.

Also, when we are in the presence of Gods love during praise & worship services and the Anointing is felt very thick & tangible; That is just a taste of Gods love. When we physically die, then our soul is in the presence of Gods Love and Gods Love is magnified many times. It is indescribable! Because even the love felt in the Blessing of Gods Presence is indescribable, when we are still in our bodies.

So I know that my spiritual-soul has sensed the after life already. Of heaven & hell. So I know both exist. But there is also a place of rest where those who never were redeemed and also never rejected Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God to be saved. But they also never became the devils messenger of destruction. Hell was prepared for the devil & his messengers. The wrath of God is poured out on those who destroy Gods creation and Gods people.
