Which part of death suggests an afterlife?

What is the event occuring upon death that has made you believe in the afterlife?

To me, if you claim that there is afterlife, there has to be something, some event, that leads to such a claim. But I don’t see it.
Saved by grace: The part where the soul leaves the body? When does that happen? What does it look like?

Well, it’s not very noticable in humans. It’s easier with crickets. Have you ever had a cat who liked to eat them and leave the limbs behind? They keep twitching…

…Oh wait. Lingering nerve signals. Damn science! Foiled again!

The funniest thing is thinking about Hell. Because if you do have a soul and it does go to hell, it clearly doesn’t take any of your atoms with you. As you do not have atoms, they cannot be vibrated, thus you cannot burn.

Isn’t it great how a little understanding of observable reality crushes religious zeal?

We are so engrossed in our worldly pursuits that the remembrance of death does not occur to us. The Holy Prophet of Allah said, "The most intelligent person is the one who often remembers death. Constant remembrance of it prevents one from evil and sin and motivates him towards good morals. The Holy Prophet said, "The remembrance of death defeats joy."
